Works of contemporary Ukrainian artists will be exhibited for the first time at the London world famous auction house Sotheby’s.

At the auction June 9th, 2009 will display 20 works of Ukrainian artists, including paintings by Vasily Tsagolova, Oleg Tistol, Ilya Chichkan, Igor Gusev, Maxim Mamsikova, Victor Pokidantsa, Alexandra Roytburda, Alexandra Gnilitskiy, Vlad Ralko, Arsen Savadov, Marina Skugarevoy, Paul Macovei, Oksana Mas, Nicholas Matsenko.

Estimated cost of works ranging from 2-3 thousand pounds sterling (about $ 2,9-4,4 thousand) up to 20-25 thousand pounds sterling (about $ 29-36,5 thousand).

Specialists in the field of art noted that the submission of the Ukrainian contemporary art at London auction Sotheby’s is not only a personal achievement of each of the artists, but also a significant event for Ukraine, which will facilitate entry of Ukrainian art in the world of art-space.

20-21 May in the Ukrainian House in Kyiv will host the pre-show, where everyone can learn the best lots of the first auction Sotheby’s, which will exhibit the work of Ukrainian artists.
